오는 2월말 또는 3월에, 미국 전체적으로 실행하는 국가통계 설문이 다가오고 있습니다. 미국 내에 거주하는 모든 가정에 10개의 간단한 질문이 담긴 설문지가 우편 배달이 될 것입니다. 에임즈또는아이오와가한국인이얼마나분포하는지등이번 Census설문으로집계된자료를통하여, 연방정부또는아이오와주의회에서에임즈의복리를위해많은금액을지원하게됩니다.

아이오와주립대학교, 외국인학생학자사무실 (ISSO)에서도
이번 인구조사 설문을 매우 중요하게 생각하며, 에임즈 시 그리고, 연방통계 사무실의 대표자와 함께 한인공동체를 만나고자 합니다. 아래는 ISSO사무실, 버지니아로부터 온 이메일입니다. I am writing to help you to provide information and assistance to complete the U.S. Census forms.
US Census is coming soon!! It is a decennial census mandated by the United States Constitution. The population is enumerated every 10 years and the results are used to allocate government program funding. For example, Ames gets funding from the federal government to fund the local infrastructure, post services, public transportation etc. The amount of the funds depends on the population and diversity of the community. The residents include citizens, non-citizen legal residents, and non-citizen long-term visitors. No NAMES OR OTHER IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION IS COLLECTED
US Census Bureau will mail surveys to all households, including international students.. However, we expect most of international students will be intimidated and never respond to the census survey.
Since the surveys US Census Bureau collects will directly impact the City of Ames and its services to all ISU students, ISSO wants to work with the international student associations to guide international students to fill out the form.
Our office also has some forms available right now and we would like to work with the international student associations to arrange meetings at which we can answer questions and concerns as well as help those who wish to complete the census forms. The City of Ames will provide refreshments for these meetings as well as small gifts for the students and scholars who attend the meetings.
